Welcome to MPG - Train Your Mind

My whole life I have been fascinated with the mental aspect of performance. This is probably due to the fact I struggled with my mental game as a youth athlete. I had a goal of playing college golf and I didn't want anything to stop me. I put in the work, but I still wasn't seeing the results I thought I should be seeing. Not to mention my frustration would occasionally boil over into emotional meltdowns on the course.

Eventually, I reluctantly accepted my need to see a sport psychologist. I didn't know anything about sport psychology at the time and was quite skeptical. However, it opened up so many doors for me as both an athlete and a person. The work I did on my mind not only helped me earn a collegiate scholarship, but it opened up a whole new world for me. It didn't take long to realize the skills I was developing with my sport psychologist weren't only for the sports arenas. They were incredibly useful throughout everyday life.

My experience of working with someone for mental training still resonates with me to this day. I went on to study Sport Science in college, and then obtained a Master's in Sport Psychology from the University of Denver. All with the goal of one day being able to provide athletes with the same experience I was so lucky to have. This is the inspiration for Mental Performance Gym. I want people who work with me to not only become better athletes and see more on field success, but I also want people to be able to translate the skills we work on into everyday life. I hope my clients will experience the joy of why they started playing their sport in the first place, while also enjoying the process of mastering a skill.
